In 2017 I ticked a longtime Dream of mine & headed to the island of Madagascar, off the southeast coast of Africa.

Since childhood, I have been passionate about Africa, especially its tribal way of life. I have always felt so connected to the people of Madagascar, who live a ‘raw’ existence in most places yet simply and happily!

I love the way Malgache people smile, it is unique to the rest of the world. I also love their mastery and artisanal approach to their traditional arts & crafts.

Africa reflects the way of life that I love and practices myself: Simplicity at it’s best!

Early in 2017, I met an Incredible Malgache woman online, A mother of 4, a wife, a Designer, a woman that lives her dreams, a friend.

She has her own Malagasy homeware brand: ”Soasoo” We connected straight away, we met & here we are now in perfect Harmony to work Together.

Once we got to know each other I had a goal to visit Madagascar with a vision to create Mada Collective.
With Soasoo we work directly with ethical artisans in remote and rural Madagascar to bring you the finest quality goods, each 100% handwoven with only natural & sustainable fabrics.
Mada Collective IS Madagascar, working on creations closely with Soasoo as well as a few varieties of emblematic handicrafts from all over Madagascar.

Products are made in a hut, in a variety of regions, by women at home, and are handwoven.

We seek out items that are beautiful, original, and traditionally made with care and attention.
Everything is handmade from sewing thread to the finished products. We choose all-natural materials, burnished finishes and touchable sustainable fabrics for a look that speaks of eternal holidays.
Each piece is unique and beautiful in its simplicity and is the creation of the hands that masterfully wove it.
I hope that on my annual journeys to Madagascar I will find authentic new creations that reflect the gentle coastal lifestyle I live in & the salty nomade lifestyle I relate to, for you to accessorize your home in a timeless way…

It is also my commitment to help a village every year and particularly some of the most remote fishing villages in the southwest of Madagascar, the Vezo Tribes.

As a side project, five percent of the value of each product you buy will go directly to fund a village.

These funds will be transformed to any needs for those children for them to attend remote school or a way to improve their daily grind. Setting up a charity system is very complicated in remote places like these, which is why I hope to do the delivery myself each year.
